World COPD Day raises awareness of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, one of the most significant respiratory Diseases affecting people worldwide. The observance promotes better Health literacy, prevention, early diagnosis, and effective disease management. Although November 18 can coincide with related awareness activities, World COPD Day traditionally takes place on the third Wednesday of November. The International campaign encourages communities, patients, and healthcare professionals to recognize persistent breathlessness, coughing, and wheezing as potential warning signs. In the United States and elsewhere, education and timely medical attention can encourage earlier intervention, improve disease management, and help communities confront the considerable global burden of COPD.
