The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, observed on November 29, provides a significant International occasion to reflect on Palestinian rights, history, and aspirations for self-determination. The United Nations established the observance in 1977, linking the date to the 1947 adoption of General Assembly Resolution 181. The day also recognizes Palestinian Cultural heritage through exhibitions, artistic programs, and other commemorative activities. Its significance extends beyond Religious identity, encompassing questions of dignity, justice, sovereignty, and human rights. Across the world, governments, institutions, and civil society organizations use the occasion to promote awareness and dialogue surrounding the enduring question of Palestine.
