Established in 2016 by the American Urological Association, November 01 inaugurates a month-long campaign dismantling silence surrounding urinary conditions. Overactive bladder affects more than 33 million Americans, while one in two women beyond age 65 experience stress urinary incontinence. This dedicated Awareness initiative debunks pervasive misconceptions, particularly assumptions equating incontinence with inevitable aging rather than treatable dysfunction. Weekly thematic focuses address interstitial cystitis, bladder cancer, and nocturia, fostering comprehensive Health literacy. Bladder-related conditions collectively cost the healthcare system over $70 billion annually. Throughout the United States, urologists and advocacy organizations encourage proactive dialogue, empowering patients toward earlier intervention and improved quality of life.
