Observed on April 02, Nature Day—locally known as Sizdah Be‑dar—is a deeply Cultural and Historical celebration in Iran that marks the thirteenth day of the Persian New Year and the joyful end of Nowruz festivities. On this day, families traditionally picnic outdoors, embracing lush landscapes and singing beneath open skies as a way to absorb spring’s vitality and cast off misfortune associated with the number thirteen. The custom reflects ancient reverence for the natural world and seasonal renewal, fostering communal harmony and reverence for nature’s enduring rhythms. It is also observed by some communities in Afghanistan and beyond.
